Seven-spot ladybird, Coccinella septempunctata
The most common UK ladybird. Active from March to October, hibernating through the winter. Adults and larvae feed on aphids.
Orange ladybird, Halyzia sedecimguttata
Active from April to October. Found in woodland (often with Ash and Sycamore), feeds on mildew
Harlequin ladybird, Harmonia axyridis
First recorded in UK in 2004, spreading rapidly and now established through most of England. Very variable, active between April and October and found in many habitats including on deciduous trees and low plants. Its broad diet includes aphids, other ladybirds, moth eggs and larvae, pollen and nectar.
