Flowering time: May-November. Perennial. Archaeophyte

Frequent on neutral or basic soils on roadsides, field margins, railway banks and fertile waste ground and in open woodland.

An erect, hairy plant, the coarse-toothed leaves are nettle-like but completely stingless. The two-lipped white flowers are in dense, well-spaced whorls in the leaf axils. Spreads by means of seeds and long, spreading stolons.
