Small-flowered Buttercup Ranunculus parviflorus Flowering time: May-August. Annual. Native Found on neutral or calcareous soils on dry banks, open grassland, waste and cultivated ground. Most frequent in SW England, occasional elsewhere in southern England and Wales. A low, inconspicuous plant. Small pale-yellow flowers with down-turned sepals are followed by spiny fruit. The toothed, hairy lower leaves are 3-5 lobed, the upper leaves simple or oblong-lobed. Furrowed flower stalks. |
