Flowering time: July-September. Annual. Archaeophyte

Can be locally common in parts of southern England on open, basic and sandy soils; waste ground, arable land and gardens.

Solitary yellowish flowers with a purple upper lip and a more/less straight spur on hairless flower stalks. The alternate hairy leaves are stalked and spearhead-shaped on spreading or prostrate stems.

Similar: Round-leaved Fluellen, Kickxia spuria. Oval or roundish leaves, hairy flower stalks
