Creeping, mat-forming growth habit, the flowers inconspicuous and often absent, pinkish-green with 5 petals. Round, shallow toothed leaves on erect stalks attached at centre of leaves. Hairy stems, rooting at nodes.

Sometimes host to the fungus Puccinia hydrocotyles
