Yellow Archangel Lamiastrum galeobdolon subsp. montanum Flowering time: April-July. Stoloniferous perennial. Native Prefers heavier, calcareous soils in damp woodland and on old shaded hedgebanks and is often associated with ancient woodlands Flowers are yellow with orange-brown streaks, the lower lip with +/- equal lobes. The stalked, coarsely toothed leaves are oval with rounded bases and many leafy runners are produced once flowering finishes. The variegated garden form of Yellow Archangel is Lamiastrum galeobdolon subsp. argentatum and this can be invasive in the wild |
