Most frequent near coasts, often in damp grassland on heavy soils

Long-stalked heads of pink flowers followed by seedheads with strongly inflated, hairy calyx-tubes. Trifoliate +/- hairless leaves with thickened, recurved lateral veins. Creeping, prostrate stems, rooting at the nodes

Similar: Hare's-foot Clover, T. arvense. Flowerheads with long silky hairs
