Hairy Bird's-foot-trefoil Lotus subbiflorus Flowering time: July-August. Annual / short-lived perennial. Native Usually coastal on neutral to acid soils in dry grassland, sandy roadsides and on bare ground A low, spreading plant with very hairy stems and narrowly oval leaflets. The leaves are shorter than the flower stalks. The flowerheads have 2-4 small yellow flowers, the seedpods as long as or longer than the flowers.
