Cruciata laevipes * Crosswort Flowering time: May - June. Perennial Habitat: Neutral and calcareous grassland, scrub, hedgebanks and open woodland. Absent from north and west Scotland and Ireland. Dense clusters of small, honey-scented, yellow flowers followed by smooth black fruit. The hairy stems are initially spreading and then erect with hairy yellowish-green leaves in whorls of four. Height 15-60cm |
