Hound's-tongue Cynoglossum officinale Flowering time: June - August. Biennial. Often coastal in grassland and dunes on calcareous or sandy soils. RDB-Near Threatened The small, funnel-shaped reddish-purple flowers are followed by bristly, four quartered seeds. Grey-green downy leaves, smelling +/- of mice. The basal leaves are stalked, the upper leaves are stalkless. Height 30-60cm |
