Thrift Armeria maritima Flowering time: May - September. Perennial Usually coastal on rocks, cliffs, salt marshes, coastal road banks and walls. Also found inland in mountainous areas of NW Scotland. Evergreen cushions of dark green, linear leaves with round heads of fragrant pink flowers on unbranched stems. The calyx is papery and finely toothed.
