Gall becoming brown or black with a single larva in each roll (white becoming pinky-orange when mature). Several generations from June onwards. Similar: Dasineura pteridicola; inconspicuous downward fold, pinnule barely thickened. One or more larvae, white when mature. Single generation, early summer.
