Dasineura comosae

Photographs on Hippocrepis comosa, Horse-shoe Vetch

Host:
Hippocrepis comosa

Often several leaflets are folded lengthwise into swollen pods containing a number of yellow to orange larvae. Pupation occurs in the ground

Similar: Macrolabis hippocrepidis causes similar leaf folds with gregarious white larvae. It is possibly an iniquiline of Dasineura comosae

Larvae of both species need checking for identification
