Agamic and sexual generations on Quercus petraea, robur

Agamic - usually on trunks near ground level. Galls gregarious, 3-5mm in diameter, ridged, conical, the tips often pointed. Exit hole at side of gall

Sexual - not yet recorded in Britain. Smooth bud gall (to 2.5mm tall) on young branches. Requires rearing; identical to those of A. quercuscorticis
