Hexomyza simplicoides Photographs on Salix cinerea x aurita, Sallow Hosts: Salix caprea, also S. aurita, cinerea, pedicellata, repens. Usually causes a long slender swelling (2 x 0.5 cm) tapering at each end. Sometimes indistinct with the stem barely swollen or several galls may coalesce round stem causing a thicker, uneven swelling. Single white larva in each chamber, pupating within the gall.
