Hosts:
Salix caprea, also S. aurita, cinerea, pedicellata, repens.

Usually causes a long slender swelling (2 x 0.5 cm) tapering at each end. Sometimes indistinct with the stem barely swollen or several galls may coalesce round stem causing a thicker, uneven swelling. Single white larva in each chamber, pupating within the gall. No frass

Similar: The micro moth Cydia servillana causes similar galls on Salix. Blackish-brown frass present, the larva a caterpillar
