Very rarely on Quercus cerris Agamic - succulent, thick-walled,15-25mm, yellow-green becoming reddish. Galls smooth on Q. robur, warty on Q. petraea Sexual - 2mm velvety bud galls, colour changing from red to dark purple. Remnants of bud scales are visible at base of galls
