Anthophora plumipes Hairy-footed flower bee Found throughout England and south Wales in a variety of habitats including gardens, woods and coastal sites Usually March to late May but some records from February until early July Widely polylectic but with a strong preference for Lamiaceae. Often seen on Lungwort in early spring Cleptoparasite: Melecta albifrons. Possibly also Bombylius discolor |
