Growth type foliose
Chemical results negative

Widespread but local among grass or mosses on sandy, acidic to slightly basic soils on dunes, heaths, grassland and stabilised shingle.

Grey or grey-brownish bullate lobes, +/- white tomentose, whitish underneath with smooth, flattened veins. Rhizines bushy, much-branched. Saddle-shaped brown to blackish apothecia.
