Chemical results: K+ red

Found on dry, shaded calcareous rocks, walls and mortar, sometimes spreading over mosses.

Thallus forms a thick, areolate crust of yellowish-grey or mustard coloured, powdery granules. Granules are globular. Apothecia unknown.

Similar: Sterile Caloplaca citrina agg. has brighter yellow soredia and occurs on well-lit calcareous rocks and walls
