Found on nutrient-rich bark of mature, well-lit deciduous trees

Pale grey thallus, can be completely covered by the branched or cylindrical isidia. Apothecia are very rare.

Similar: Phlyctis argena and Ochrolechia turneri are C-. The thallus of Pertusaria coccodes is K+ orange > red
