Flowering time: July-September. Annual

Grows on heaths, open woodlands and sandy waste ground

Stalked yellow flowerheads, the short outer florets rolled back. Bracts brownish-purple or green, the outer bracts absent or very small. Young leaves are initially white-cottony but become hairless.

Similar: Groundsel, Senecio vulgaris. Black bracts
