Common on free-draining, less acidic soils in woods, hedgebanks and gardens and on wasteground

Small yellow flowers with five rounded petals. The leaves are slightly hairy, pinnate, with a large terminal lobe and smaller lateral lobes.

Hybrids with Water Avens, Geum rivale occur: Geum x intermedium
