Can be found on dry, open sandy or rocky ground on dunes, sea-cliffs, grassland and wasteground but declining due to habitat loss

A hairy, usually erect plant with stalked, egg-shaped flowerheads with very small pinkish-white flowers among the long white hairs. The trifoliate lower leaves are stalked, upper leaves are un-stalked.
