Flowering time: June-September. Annual. Native

Found on dry, infertile, acidic to neutral soils on sandy grasslands and heaths, dunes and waste ground. Decreasing in some areas because of habitat loss

Small, slender plant with clusters of 3-6 flowerheads, each cluster 5-8mm in width. Widely-spaced, narrow greyish leaves are covered with white-woolly hairs. Upper leaves shorter than the clusters of flowerheads above them
