Cladonia arbuscula spp. squarrosa

Occurs on damp, acidic heaths, upland peat moors and dunes

Primary thallus non persistent, granular. Podetia are greyish-white, three to four times branched with open axils. The terminal branches are strongly curved in +/- one direction.

Similar: Cladonia portentosa. P-, the branching +/- trichotomous
C. ciliata. Tips of branches curved, axils usually closed. P+ red, UV-
