Found on hard limestone rocks, calcareous monuments, walls and mortar

Thallus usually immersed, pale grey, smooth or slightly granular. Apothecia often in small groups, discs brownish to brown-black, greyish pruinose. Margins white, well-developed, persistent, deep and regularly crenate.

Member of the Lecanora dispersa group
Similar: Lecanora antiqua (L. conferta), pruinose apothecia C+ orange. Lecanora agardhiana has smaller apothecia immersed in pits in rock
