A rare coastal species on sheltered, sunny limestone rocks and walls.

The yellowy-orange placodioid thallus is closely pressed to the substrate and has abundant finger-like isidia that often obscure the centre of the thallus. Scattered apothecia (to 1mm diam), the spores 11-13 x 7-9 µm, septum 3-6 µm wide (1/4 to 1/2 length of the spore)

Similar: C. verruculifera. Larger, greenish-yellow with flattened isidia
