Primrose Primula vulgaris Flowering time: December-May. Perennial. Can be locally frequent in woods, hedgebanks, meadows and on roadsides throughout Britain and Ireland. The pale yellow, scented flowers are usually solitary on hairy stalks with basal rosettes of wrinkled, +/- stalkless leaves. Pink flowered forms occur occasionally. Similar: Cowslip, Primula veris |
