Primula veris * Cowslip Flowering time: April-May. Perennial. Habitat: Well-drained basic or calcareous soils including grasslands, scrub, woodland edges and cliffs. Drooping umbels of apricot-scented yellow flowers on tall, upright flower stems. The flowers have orange streaks inside the corollas. The pale-green leaves are stalked and wrinkled.
