Flowering time: July-August. Stoloniferous perennial. Native

Can be common on well-drained calcareous or neutral soils in meadows and dunes and in quarries and on roadsides

A hairless, sprawling plant with loose leafy panicles of small yellow flowers which are followed by smooth black fruit. Stems are 4-angled with whorls of 8-12 narrow, pointed leaves with mucronate tips.

Similar: Crosswort, Cruciata laevipes is a hairy, erect plant
