Pertusaria leioplaca Growth type crustose K+ yellow, C-, KC+ yellow, P +/- orange-red, UV +/- pale orange Can be frequent particularly in the north and west on smooth-barked deciduous trees and shrubs in +/- shaded and sheltered locations Thin whitish to pale green-grey thallus, the margin +/- unzoned. Scattered flat-topped warts with spreading bases, apothecia usually single with small pore-like discs. Asci (3-)4(-6) spored, spores (40-)50-80(-120) x (20-)25-40(-50) µm. Micrographs below. Host to Sphinctrina tubiformis Similar: Pertusaria pertusa, also K+ yellow, C-, KC+ yellow, P+ deep orange, UV+/- orange but asci 2-spored, spores 150-250 x 40-80 µm |
