Scytinium teretiusculum (Leptogium teretiusculum) Growth type foliose Chemical reactions negative Occurs on basic soil, rocks and walls, among coastal mossy grassland and on basic bark of mature, shaded, deciduous trees. Thallus is very small and easily overlooked. Forms small, dense cushions to 1cm diameter, the tiny narrow, dark brownish lobes with long isidia-like extensions developing at margins and apices. Apothecia very rare, urceolate with thick margins. Similar: Leptogium schraderi, also L. subtile (usually very fertile) |
