Placynthiella uliginosa Growth type crustose Chemical results negative Found on peaty or sandy heathland soils, also on dead bark of fallen trees. Thallus of brown-black rounded granules forming +/- continuous crust. Abundant apothecia, discs pinkish to dark reddish-brown, margins becoming excluded. Spores simple, 9-14(-16.5) x 4-6(-7) µm.
