Chemical results negative

Rare, on rotting conifer stumps, wood, bark crevices, moss and dead Peltigera. Also recorded from the base of Calluna stems (photograph below). BLS conservation evaluation: LC NR

Filmy grey-green thallus, tiny pale cream apothecia (0.1-0.2mm), urceolate with entire margins. Spores colourless, 3-septate, 10-15 x 4.5-6.5 µm. Microscope photographs below.

Similar: Absconditella trivialis has larger apothecia and spores.
Absconditella sphagnorum is found on decaying bryophytes
