Chemistry: K-, P-, UV-. Thallus and apothecial pruina C+ orange to red

Usually coastal, infrequent on shaded basic rocks and mortar and on the north walls of old churches. Sometimes parasitic on Dirina massiliensis

Thick, cracked, pale grey or brownishish thallus with a black prothallus. Apothecia are initially immersed, black discs with grey pruina and a persistent margin. Spores 3-5 septate, 12-17 x 3-5 Ám. Microscope photographs below.
