Local distribution, a pioneer species on sun-exposed hard limestone walls and tombstones

Variable. Yellow to orange aereolate thallus intersected by fine, black lines and surrounded by a black prothallus, often mosaic-forming. Immarginate apothecia, darker than thallus. Spores 9-13 5-9 m, broadly ellipsoid, septum 3-5 m wide, 1/4 to 1/2 length of spore. Micro photo below.
