Chemical results: K+ persistent yellow, KC+ yellow, P+ orange, UV-

Can be common on exposed siliceous rocks in upland and coastal areas

Thick rimose-areolate thallus, white or greyish with a white prothallus. Centre covered with abundant long, white isidia. Apothecia are rare, the asci 2-spored.
Host to the lichenicolous fungus Sclerococcum sphaerale.

Similar: P. pseudocorallina. K+ yellow turning red (after 30 seconds)
