Lecidea erythrophaea Growth type crustose Chemical results negative Found on deciduous trees with smooth bark, most frequent on young Fraxinus, and also Corylus and Populus tremula Thin whitish thallus is superficial or +/- immersed, prothallus absent. Apothecia are flat to convex, red-brown to brownish-black, margins thin or excluded. Asci 8-spored, spores simple, (8-)9-14(-18) x 3-4.5(-5) µm. Micrographs below.
