Commensal or parasitic on Phaeophyscia thallii on dry and well-lit rocks

Ascomata are blackish, 0.2-0.3mm in diameter with +/- distorted blackish margins. The asci are mostly 8-spored, spores 1-septate, hyaline becoming pale brown, (12-)13-17 x 6-8.5 µm Micrographs below.

Similar: Buelliella lecanorae is found on epiphytic Lecanora species. Pyrenidium actinellum occurs on Phaeophyscia but spores 3-septate
