Trapeliopsis granulosa Growth type crustose Chemical results: K-, C+ red, KC+ red, P-, UV+ whitish Pioneer of burnt heathland, often with Placynthiella uliginosa. Also on acidic moorland soils, decaying mosses and tree stumps, rare on rocks. Thallus forms patches of whitish, pale-grey or greenish-grey, crowded granules or warted areoles. Large granular soralia are usually present, whitish or creamy-yellow. Apothecia are frequent, the discs variable in colour, pale pink to red-brown, greenish or piebald. Similar: T. pseudogranulosa. Orange patches K+ purple, apothecia absent |
