Arthopyrenia analepta Growth type crustose Chemical reations negative Early coloniser on smooth, +/- shaded bark of twigs and small branches Thin or evanescent non-lichenised thallus without orange colour when scratched (Trentepohlia absent). Large, oval perithecia, base of discs with halo-like shadow, pycnidia occasional. Spores are 1-septate with wide, colourless perispore, 15-23 x 5.5-8 µm. Microscope photographs below.
