Cresponea premnea Growth type crustose Chemical reactions negative. Occurs on dry, rough bark of mature Oak, Yew and Beech in old woodland and parks. BLS conservation evaluation: LC Sc IR. NIEC 'Old woodland' indicator Evanescent or thin, greyish-green thallus, the black apothecia are +/- green-pruinose. Pycnidia occasional. Asci 8-spored, the spores 5-septate, 18-25 x 5-7 µm, usually curved and pointed. Micro photos below. Sometimes found with Lecanographa lyncea |
