Nationally can be locally common, infrequently recorded in Dorset
Wingspan: 27-39mm. Black streaks can be variable

Season: July-August
Habitat: Open acidic grasslands, heaths and moorland. Occasional on chalky soils with Sheep's Fecscue

Larvae feed on grasses including Sheep's Fescue and Purple Moor-grass
