Widespread, common
Wingspan: 34-40mm. Can be very variable

Season: From late January, main flight period March - May
Habitat: Woods, parks, hedgerows and gardens

Larvae feed on a wide range of deciduous trees including Oak, sallows, birch, Hawthorn and Hazel.
