Pertusaria pertusa

Growth type crustose.
Chemical results: K+ yellow, C-, KC+ yellow, P+ deep orange, UV+/- orange.
Very common on tree bark, occasional on rocks, walls and memorials.

A conspicuous zoned margin surrounds the thick, slightly cracked greenish-grey thallus. Wart-like protuberances produce 3-7 apothecia with discs like tiny black pits. Asci usually 2-spored, spores 150-250 x 40-80 µm. Microscope photographs below.
Sometimes host to Sphinctrina turbinata

Similar: Pertusaria hymenea. Discs are +/- open, asci 8-spored
