First discovered in Ireland in 1909
Wingspan: 10-12mm
Season: Day-flying April-October.

Food plant: Feeds on the underside of fern fronds; Soft shield-fern Polystichum setiferum, Male-fern Dryopteris filix-mas, Hart's tongue Phyllitis scolopendrium, Black spleenwort Asplenium adiantum-nigrum, Maidenhair spleenwort A.trichomanes. Possibly introduced with imported ferns and often found indoors.
