Widespread, common. Need gen.det. for closer identification Wingspan: 29-35mm Flight time: July-September Habitat: Acidic moors, marshy ground, damp fields. Saltern Ear and Crinan Ear are also found in dunes. Ear Moth tolerates dryer ground; woodland rides, gardens. The larvae of Ear Moth, Saltern Ear and Large Ear feed on various grasses, the larvae of Crinan Ear possibly feed on Yellow Iris |
