Season: April-May and July-August

Food plant: Beech (Fagus sylvatica)
Mine: June and August-September
Egg usually upperside near margin. Mine is wide corridor usually from the margin towards the midrib with distinctly coiled frass in central section.

Similar: Stigmella tityrella. Egg near midrib, frass never coiled.
