Green Amaranth Amaranthus hybridus Flowering time: July-October. Annual. Neophyte Originally introduced from S. America, scattered distribution on lighter soils on waste and cutivated ground. Usually casual as it rarely naturalises Very similar to Common Amaranth with erect growth, hairy leaves and seed capsules that split horizontally but the flowerhead is more open and the tepals taper to a point at their tips.
