America and very occasionally recorded on agriculture land and waste ground Very similar to Common Amaranth but the bracteoles have a distinctly thickened mid-rib (shown in lowest photograph) Similar: Common Amaranth Amaranthus retroflexus and Green Amaranth Amaranthus hybridus
